About

After thirty years of traveling the world as a musician and songwriter, Joe Flood discovered that he shared a musical lineage with three important 19th century songwriters from Joe's hometown of Middletown, CT: Henry Clay Work (1832-1884), composer of Marching Through Georgia and Grandfather’s Clock, once the most popular song in America; Reginald Dekoven (1859-1920), the first successful American operetta composer; and Edward Barrett (1817-1914), an Irish immigrant blacksmith and broadside poet who wrote lyrics to traditional airs, and a musical era often overlooked.
