Design smarter, more sustainable gardens by understanding how maintenance shapes long-term success. In this six-week course, Daryl Beyers guides students through the essential maintenance considerations that belong in every garden design, meeting Saturdays from Jan. 24 through Feb. 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will deepen their horticultural knowledge while learning how to make plant selections that balance sustainability, durability and cost-effectiveness. The course covers practical techniques for perennials, woody plants, and lawns, including transplanting, staking, fertilizing, winter protection, mulching, plant health, and pest management, with special attention to deer control, giving students the tools to create gardens that thrive long after installation.
