About

Rabindranath Tagore might be best known as a Bengali poet who was the first non-European to win the Nobel prize for literature. He was also a social reformer who cared deeply for the land. O Horizon (2018, 90 minutes) is an experimental documentary that explores Tagore’s environmental teachings through cinematic vignettes and portraits. Commissioned by bauhaus imaginista, the film is both part of The Otolith Group’s larger engagement with the environment in this era of human-wrought climate change and a powerful meditation on Indian modernism.
Free. The event will be introduced by Williams College Professor Alena Williams.
