The Stockbridge Sinfonia presents “A Tribute to Ukraine,” a FREE concert here at Saint James Place on Sunday, August 11, 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
The program opens with America the Beautiful (a beautiful arrangement by Philip Rothman), and the Ukrainian National Anthem, arranged by Keith Terrett for orchestra and chorus, followed by selected works of Ukrainian composers: Reinhold Gliere (Sailor’s Dance), Myroslav Skoryk (Melodya), and a movement of Prokofiev’s Troika. Pittsfield High School composer Davis Albayeros will be featured with selected string players, performing El Ultimo Baile. The finale? Beethoven’s magnificent 7th Symphony.
